It’s spring in Los Angeles and the Snapshot Crew is mad busy! 2017 is off to a great start but we have a lot more planned for the year. Crew member Erwin Recinos was most recently featured in an article for KCET Artbound on the LatinX photo Zine movement. Luis Torres launched a new Instagram (follow at @lou_one_three) dedicated exclusively to his new film photography work (which is lit) and Kwasi Boyd-Bouldin released his In Plain Sight project (also a collaboration with KCET Artbound) in addition to being named one of Time Magazine’s 12 African American photographers to Follow.
At the moment, all three founding members are hard at work on our new zine that we are debuting at this years LA Zinefest. It is a bit of a departure from the type of work we’ve come to be known for, we can’t wait to share it with y’all. We are all also grinding away at our individual zines for the show, this years Zinefest is going to be a big one for us. Check back in for updates as May 28th approaches.
Of course, we have also been steadily making new work, each member contributed some of their most recent work to this set as a sample of new photography we’ve been working on. Don’t forget to check out our two most recent interviews with Kevin Novales and Cinthya Guillen, they are both amazing photographers and we are ecstatic they decided to contribute to Snapshot galleria.
